The &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;pass mark is 70%&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;

Two skill sets &amp;amp;mdash; &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Plan, Build, Maintain and Disassemble Systems&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (26%) and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Install, Control and Disassemble Lighting&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (21%) &amp;amp;mdash; together make up nearly half the exam. Focused review there is likely to pay off disproportionately.&lt;br /&gt;

== Two paths to the exam ==&lt;br /&gt;

* &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Registered apprentices&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; sit the exam after completing (or nearing completion of) their apprenticeship. See [[Becoming Certified]].&lt;br /&gt;
* &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Exam-challenge applicants&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (never formally apprenticed) may sit the exam directly if they can show 5,000 hours of on-the-job experience and competency in all mandatory skills.
